Camago-Malampaya Oil Leg

LOCATION

Located 80 kilometers northwest of Palawan Island in water depths of 820 - 1200 meters, the Camago-Malampaya Field was discovered in 1989 by Occidental Petroleum. The field was initially assumed to contain 3 trillion cubic feet of gas and 456 Million barrels of oil. A horizontal well (MA-10) was drilled to appraise the Camago-Malampaya Oil Leg (CMOL) and an extended well test performed for 150 days in 2001 to confirm the oil production potential, producing 25,000 barrels per day at 30 degrees API crude oil quality.
